|For the past 37 years, Theresa has specialized in the education of three to five year old children and their parents. Her undergraduate degree specialized in Urban Social Service under the Sociology program at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She further strengthened her experience with various courses, workshops and seminars. Each year, she attends refresher courses. In addition, she has 37years of "hands on" teaching in the classroom. Her graduate work at Wheelock college began in response to a growing need in her parent population for information, guidance and support in the ever changing role of being a parent. Her graduate course work included such topics as "Perspectives on Parenting", "Organizing and Leading Parent Groups","Helping Parents With Parent/Child Conflicts and Other Child Rearing Concerns Parent Counseling, Identifying", "Assessing and Adapting Parent Education Curricula, "Reflection,Observance and Practice", and "Adult Development", Theresa completed her Graduate Certificate in Parenting Education in 2000. Other graduate work included "challenging Behaviors; What to Know and What to Do". Our next Parenting Workshop called, "Let's All Get Some Sleep" will be announced shortly on our event calender. Theresa is also a Special Needs Advocate/ Parent Consultant trained by the Federation for Children With Special Needs in Boston (2010). She works with families with children from Early Intervention through High School mainly on the South Shore.
